an undecided vote, II
The Times has a feature article on Mike Huckabee this week. The article is far from a Huckabee endorsement and the punches the author tries to pull, didn't impress me.
Evenso, I've slowly been turning away from Mike Huckabee as a candidate. I started to wane after receiving regular e-mail updates from the Huckabee campaign where the slogan: Faith. Family. Freedom. began appearing -- really, what does that mean? Then when I hopped over to peruse the Huckabee website, I was disconcerted to find Iraq was #11 in his "issues" list behind Faith & Politics, Veterans Bill of Rights, Education & the Art, and others.
It feels like I'm back to square one in trying to find a Republican candidate that I would vote for.

I walked up to Franklin this morning to meet a friend for coffee, when I noticed the street was barricaded. I had stumbled upon the Chapel Hill Holiday Parade! Who knew!

Our possessed microwave bit the dust yesterday and told us by displaying the word "pf" on the display panel. Now we have a new silky smooth one.

We borrowed a friends truck today to do a bunch of errands where a truck bed was needed, including getting our Christmas tree! Here's Andy chauffeuring us around. We liked driving the truck. :)

christmas at home
Christmas at home on Thursday for us was opening gifts, drinking gimlets, and talking. It was lovely. The fire was actually part of my gift (a whole truckload full of firewood!). Though Andy's friends were skeptical that I would like this gift, I was very excited. I have been wanting a fire for a while now, but we never seemed to have time to find any wood. Thanks, hon!

glazed pottery
I am still not very good at the glazing part of pottery. Either it is too thick or an ugly combo. Even so, I thought the inside of this mug turned out pretty cool.

a wild hare
A while back, we had a delicious meal at a French restaurant in DC. Andy had rabbit stew and he's been drooling over the prospect of making his own ever since. Last night he purchased the rabbit and is diligently working in the kitchen preparing herb-roasted rabbit. Yum!
