what's in a name
I was reading an article today on some of the issues surrounding the production and use of ethanol. A board member from the Energy Policy Research Foundation was highly critical of the fuel and was interested to find out what their research said. Though I had never heard the name before, I assumed it was some sort of non-profit research organization. I couldn't find a homepage and realized it was because the Energy Policy Research Foundation had recently changed their name from the Petroleum Industry Research Foundation. The name change worked. I was more willing to listen to their criticisms as the "Energy Policy Research Foundation" than the "Petroleum Industry Research Foundation."
