endorsement?
So, it's not exactly a stunning endorsement, but it coulda been worse:
Before you recoil in horror at the thought of living in Omaha, a city of 414,000 souls, consider that this year Money magazine ranked it seventh of the nation’s 10 best big cities to live in, ahead of New York City, which ranked 10th. O.K., now you may recoil in horror.
Personally, I would have focused on Lincoln. (Wohoo!) But what do you expect from big city folks?

Anyone who would recoil in horror at living in Omaha probably has never lived here. Concerts, museums, parks, sports, restaurants, good PCA churches, brilliant autumn skies, fabulous sunsets, friendly people. What more do you want? Well, maybe the beach....

Omaha's reputation has definitely improved in the last several years. A city's whose rep took a big hit today? St. Louis. Most dangerous city in the country, or so says one report. And here I've been calling StL a great place to raise kids! Ah well.

*lol* jane, i saw that too -- that Cary was #8 on the safest places to live. my co-worker and I commiserated that it was because nothing happens there (crime or anything else!).

I like Omaha. I used to get teary-eyed every I flew into OMA. Yeah, I have issues. But I really do like Omaha.
